Jan Marchesi
Brought to the United States
from England in the late 1700’s,
theorem is a method of painting
on velvet using oil paint and a
series of accurately cut stencils.
Fine details are added using a
brush. Jan Marchesi of
Westfield has been practicing
the art of theorem for almost 30
years. All of her theorems are
either original designs or precise
historical reproductions.
