Jackie French Koller
Jackie French Koller is the author of over three dozen critically acclaimed books
for children and young adults, including THE LIBERTY POLE, serialized in the
Boston Globe and many other newspapers around the country, and IF I HAD
ONE WISH, which became the original Disney channel movie, YOU WISH. In
2002, when Jackie’s youngest child graduated from college, Jackie took a
course in Watercolor and discovered a whole new passion. That passion soon
led her to open the Little Black Dog Gallery in Westfield, MA and now a second
location - Little Black Dog Gallery East at 90 Great Road in Bedford. Jackie is a
watercolor photorealist, a relatively new genre which utilizes an extremely fine,
detailed technique more typical of oil or acrylic media. All of Jackie's works are
available as giclee prints.
“I find many similarities between writing and painting. Just as characters come
alive and take on lives of their own, so do paintings. I particularly love the
spontaneity of watercolor. One never knows quite what the paint will do and
therein lies the magic!”
